MA FESTIVAL

Sounds for the Soul
& Conversation Starters

With the contribution of MA Festival and Bruges 2030, the organisation Sounds for the Soul got to work in Bruges and the region during the MA festival. Sounds for the Soul is an initiative of Das Haus. They bring a live music experience to people's homes. Anyone going through a difficult time in their life can share their story. Sounds for the Soul then plans a one-to-one meeting with a professional musician who can shed new light on the story.

Moreover, we also lent the Bruges 2030 card game to MA Festival, so their visitors would find it easier to get talking to a stranger after a concert. The festival accompanied the questions with beautiful illustrations.

    MA Festival

aims to bring innovation to the world of early music. In a dialogue between today's artists and today's audiences, the festival unites tradition with a contemporary vision and presentation and that in a sustained dialogue with society.

The festival is both a venue for the performance at the highest level of the rich, complex musical heritage from the 12th to the 21st century, and a platform where musicians' talent and vision can flourish. MA Festival brings together the widest possible audience to experience early music in all its beauty and diversity.

  • Sounds for the Soul

is an initiative of DAS HAUS, a Brussels-based performance space and workplace for innovative and socially inspired classical music projects. The artists coming to your home are professional classical musicians from different cultural backgrounds who play a wide range of instruments. They normally perform on the bigger stages of Europe and beyond, and tomorrow they might be in your living room. They were specially trained for this project to make the encounter as empathetic, pleasant and respectful as possible.
