OPEN MONUMENTS
WEEKEND

  • Saturday 7 September (14h-18h)
    & Sunday 8 September (10h-13h & 14h-18h)

  • Huize Minnewater
    Professor Dr. Sebrechtsstraat 1
    8000 Bruges

  • Thanks to Triennale Brugge 2024, the connecting route between the Site Sint-Jan and the Minnewater has literally surfaced. Adrien Tirtiaux not only uncovered the remains of that road, he talked to people who know the road all too well: nurses, paramedics, hospital staff. A documentary containing some of these conversations will be shown during the Open Monuments Weekend.

LAUREATE PROJECTS

of the Open Call

Bruges 2030 launched an open call looking for projects by new artists or new collaborations with established organisations around ‘the art of Conversation’. The open call has since ended, the artists and organisations have come to pitch and an independent jury finally chose seven projects that will be allowed to realise their artistic dreams under the wings of Bruges 2030.

More info on the Open Call can be found here. Discover the laureate projects below.

ABOUT
BRUGES 2030

On our way to the candidacy to become European Capital of Culture, we embrace ‘the art of Conversation’ as a goal and a tool. We are building a file in which as many citizens of Bruges as possible get involved in the conversation. Our pilot projects will not only fuel dialogue, but will themselves emerge from conversations.

Our candidacy for European Capital of Culture is not only based on thinking, but especially on doing. Over the past year and a half, we organised numerous events ourselves, entered into collaborations with other organisations, supported existing initiatives and launched an Open Call. These are our Pilot Projects.
