EXPO NOBU, BABA & HENK

With the trilogy 'Nobu, Baba and Henk', fashion designer Lisa Konno and director Sarah Blok found each other in their love for societal stories told in a light-hearted tone. Together, the standalone short films form an upbeat triptych. Each documentary portrays an immigrant father who once came to the Netherlands with a bagpack full of dreams. Dressed in the most fashionable outfits against a stylised background, they take us on a journey through their eventful lives.

We presented 'Nobu, Baba and Henk' as a multimedia installation where you watch the short films on a TV screen while surrounded by the fashion outfits from the documentaries.

During the opening night, Tatzari Pablo Reyes, Beki Khani & Tahmina Ziai (three Bruges women of foreign origin) came to tell their stories and ambitions. We discovered who they were before they ended up here and what their dreams are now.
