DOCFEST

Docfest guaranteed ten high-profile documentaries at Cinema Lumière and at unique locations in the city, a festival whose heart beats to the rhythm of unique collaborations with various partners. Powerful role models and their resistance formed the common thread of the second edition. Docfest made you think and awakened the activist in you.

Brugge 2030 was a proud partner of Docfest Brugge 2023 and provided an interesting framework for two documentaries. After ‘Rebels’, a documentary in which over-75s let themselves be heard, Jong Volk organised a speed date between young and old. The Bruges2030 ‘Conversation Starters’ card game was used as a conversation opener.

After ‘My beessie and I’, a tragicomic documentary about the inseparable bond between pets and their owners, we invited Gideon Hakker (theatre maker and philosophical discussion leader). He addressed themes from the film with the children in the audience in a playful, challenging way.
